Only 1/2 hour to Mount Washington in the morning. I didn't realise I was so close when I stopped last night. I was pushing to arrive for a beer and a burger last night, but instead the best I could do was day-old pizza, sausage rolls and coffee. No complaints!

Really fun day of riding, some tough climbs though. Descending to Buttle is stunning and great fun! Camping at an old campground on Buttle Lake, which is a beautiful spot.

Lots of my gear is breaking - two bike bags, a split bag rack and phone won't charge etc etc!

Tough day. Boston Main closed due to hauling. Security guard O.K., but I made a poor decision by trying to detour up Forbidden Plateau mountain bike trails. Hike a bike! Burped front tire and had a puncture!

A couple of steep river crossings and lots of climbing!

My phone crashed and GAIA GPS lost ALL data, except (luckily) one basemap (Backroad Mapbooks) and I was able to import my route. Annoying to lose photos and the track from today.

I nearly had to resort to navigating off of my inReach, which is why we have backups. More lessons learned!

Tired!

The original plan was to make it all the way to Victoria from Courtenay. However Carly relayed to me via satellite message that there were extreme weather warnings for the areas I was traveling through.

I was close to Duncan and it just so happened that Carly was in the area, so I decided to call it a day and meet her... after getting some food.

Pretty dull roads.  A few nice river spots and occasional views. Got pretty wet today; more podcasts!

Nice spot for the evening and a very nice Thanksgiving Dinner that Carly made. Bless her.

Good views over Great Central Lake. Not very interesting into Port Alberni. Pacific Rim Highway was terrible!

Burger and poutine at "Granny's Chicken & Grill". Resupplied at gas station so I didn't stay in town long.

Hilly out of town. Bamfield road busy and pretty tough going. A podcast helped.

Lakeside camp with fire. Great stars.
